Nordic predators

Odin is Norway’s largest bear. Born in Sweden in 1994, he moved to Park Nordica the following year. In December 2026, he turns 32, making him a true park veteran. Calm, easy-going and fond of the good things in life, Odin loves his pool and has a favorite tree where he likes to enjoy his treats.

Odin shares his home with Bjørn and Søs, siblings born in the park in 2005. Bjørn is big and powerful, while Søs is smaller, lighter and much more active. She loves climbing trees and racing to be first when treats are served.

At Park Nordica, you’ll meet Varg and Vilje, along with their ten offspring. The wolf area offers a rare look at how wolves live together, communicate and rely on the pack.

Our wolves are shy, just as wolves should be. Our keepers spend a lot of time building trust through training, familiar routines and calm feeding sessions. Seeing them up close offers a better understanding of real wilderness.

Lynx are forest shadows. Silent, alert and often closer than you think. At Park Nordica, you can meet Ingun and Korse, two lynx who arrived from Langedrag in 2019.

Ingun is active, confident and very food motivated. Korse is calmer and more reserved, often letting the others investigate new things before she decides to come closer.

Otto the otter is hard not to love. He was found abandoned and barely alive as a pup and spent his first winter in our stable. That early care made him comfortable around people, and today he is playful, social and full of character. With his white moustache and big personality, Otto has a talent for making visitors smile.

He shares his home with Othelia, who came to the park from Lofoten after also being found abandoned. She settled in quickly with Otto, but while he is the easy-going charmer, Othelia has more of a diva streak.

Small, strong and famously tough, the wolverine has a reputation that Yara lives up to. Born at Skåne Zoo in 2016, she came to Park Nordica in 2018.

Yara is cautious, clever and powerful. She is also an excellent climber. During guided tours, her climbing line is often used to show just how agile and strong a wolverine can be. Soon, Yara will be joined by two new wolverines, giving visitors even more to discover about one of the wilderness’s toughest animals.

Birk the Arctic fox has already played an important role for his species. Born at Saltfjellet in 2015, he later became part of NINA’s Arctic fox breeding program in Oppdal before moving to Park Nordica.

Small, beautiful and tougher than he looks, Birk is cautious, curious, social and very fond of food. He is a reminder that wilderness is not only about the largest animals. It is also about the smaller species fighting to survive in the landscapes where they belong.

Oskar and Oda are Park Nordica’s red foxes. Oskar was found freezing in the forest near Alta as a cub. After veterinary care, he arrived at the park in summer 2024. He is calm, polite and a little cautious.

Oda was cared for by Dyrebeskyttelsen after approaching children at a school in Steinkjer. She is social, curious and highly food motivated. She recently gave birth to four cubs, the first red fox cubs ever born at Park Nordica.

Many people have heard of silver foxes. Few have seen one up close. At Park Nordica, you can meet Gabriel and Randi. Gabriel looks a little like a border collie and has a personality you notice straight away. He is social, affectionate, a little scatterbrained and loves relaxing in the sun. He came to the park from a fur farm in Orkanger together with Randi.

Randi is more cautious than Gabriel and prefers spending time in her den. But don’t be fooled by her shy side. She is very good at stealing Gabriel’s food.
