At Park Nordica, you step straight into the Nordic wilderness – and into the lives of the animals that live there. You’ll share the landscape with wolves, elk, bears, reindeer, lynx, otters – and maybe a few more, if you’re lucky.

Curiosity comes alive here. How does a bear live when no one’s watching? And why do wolves live in packs?

The animals come first

The Nordic wilderness is shrinking, and more species are pushed onto the red list every year. We want to protect the wilderness and the animals that live in it. That’s why every animal in the park has plenty of room to roam and can live much like they would in the wild.

We can’t promise you’ll see every animal in a single visit – but your chances increase considerably if you join one of our guided feeding rounds (see the times here).

Park Nordica is the perfect stop on your Norwegian road trip. Whether you want to stay for several days, stretch your legs for a few hours in the park, or simply enjoy a proper meal in the restaurant before driving on.

For all visitors aged 6 and over. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance. Children 0 - 5 years old has free admission.

Animal feeding

Since 6 September, the park has been operating in the low season, and feeding rounds are no longer offered as part of the park experience.

Dogs in the park

To help keep our animals safe and healthy, visitors are not allowed to bring pets or other animals into Park Nordica. This applies to all animals, regardless of breed or size. Thank you for your understanding.

Just outside the entrance, there is a shaded waiting area where your dog can stay while you visit the park. The dog enclosure is free to use and is unattended.

Opening hours

The park is The last day of the summer season is September 5. From September 6, Park Nordica will discontinue all activities. It will therefore no longer be possible to use the climbing tower or zipline, visit the café or Skrubb Restaurant, or take part in the feeding rounds.

However, the park will remain open to visitors who wish to take a walk through the park and see the animals on their own.

The entrance ticket will be 150 NOK during the low season for everyone over the age of 5, until further notice. Children below 5 years old has free entrance.

Due to system changes, tickets for dates after August are currently not available online. Tickets can still be purchased at the entrance.

Wheelchairs and accessibility

Most of the park is accessible for wheelchair users. We have wheelchairs available to borrow, but unfortunately, they are limited in number and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

New owner and offerings under development

The park is under new ownership and is now called Park Nordica (formerly Namsskogan Familiepark). Park Nordica is still under development, and several of the former attractions are unavailable while we work on maintenance, safety, and the necessary approval processes. The change of ownership means that all attractions must be approved again in accordance with current requirements, and this is extensive work that takes time. The zipline and climbing tower are currently available as attractions. Other attractions, the bobsleigh track and bumper boats, are not in operation.

Motorhomes and parking

We have regular parking, but no power/hookups for motorhomes.

Namsskogan is the perfect place to enjoy the stillness of the Nordic wilderness. Here, you’ll find calm in untouched nature.

There are plenty of places to stay. We’ve picked our favorites – whether you want a proper bed or a tent under the trees.
